Foundations of Head Start
Early Learning
Children’s readiness for school is shaped by early learning experiences. Through caring and trusted relationships with adults, play, and instruction, infants, toddlers, and preschool age children grow and develop. Social skills, emotional well-being, language, and literacy help build a foundation for children’s success in school and life.
Health
Children’s development is supported by health and developmental screenings, healthy nutrition, oral health and mental health support. Families are connected to community based resources to ensure children receive medical, dental, and mental health services.
Family Well-Being
Parents and families receive support from Head Start programs to achieve their goals such as housing stability, continuing education, and financial security. Parent-child relationships are enhanced by engaging families in their children’s learning and development.
